Headline: Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club graduates 32 ATV Safety Course Students
Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club held the area’s 9th annual ATV Safety Course on July 6th & 7th. The event, co-sponsored by Hidden Bear Trail ATV Club was held at the Townsend Lakewood Ambulance garage and attracted students of all ages from across the eastern half of Wisconsin. Three Red Arrow and Hidden Bear Trail members certified as ATV Safety Instructors led the two evening course and were very pleased with the attention of the students. All 32 students passed the exam and received their riding certificates.
DNR Warden Paul Hartrick attended the first session and spoke to the students about ATV Safety, DNR regulations and respect for the rights of others. He reminded the group to spread the word that anyone born after January 1st, 1988 must complete the course to ride an ATV legally in Wisconsin. Currently that means that anyone 27 years old or younger must have completed the course. An on-line version is available thru the DNR but younger students are highly encouraged to take the classroom version for maximum effect.
Congratulations to all the graduates and their parents who encouraged them to take the course. Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club has been serving the Townsend area since 1968 and is responsible for the maintenance and grooming of snowmobile and ATV trails in around Townsend. Hidden Bear Trail ATV Club is responsible for the trails in the Lakewood, Riverview and Doty areas. Thanks to our ambulance service for the generous use of their facility.
