WILD PARSNIP – INVASIVE SPECIES INFO

Wild Parsnip

Invasive Species: The Forest Service is getting very
concerned about the spread of invasive seeds from human travel. Currently
loggers have to wash their equipment when moving from site to site. The Forest
Service is asking ATV/UTV riders to do the same and to please, please stay on
the designated trails. We travel long distances on our toys and seeds stick to
mud and riding gear. They especially are concerned with a new invasive called
Garlic Mustard that is really nasty. Far worse than poison Ivy they said. Red
Arrow has worked long and hard to get riding opportunities on the forest
footprint. Don’t spoil it for everyone by riding off the marked trails and
routes. Staying on approved riding trails and routes may also save you a trip to
the doctor to treat all the nasty stuff that is lurking in the woods.
