HIDDEN BEAR TRAIL ATV CLUB NEWSLETTER #1, 2025
MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Our first membership meeting was held on Saturday June 21st at Mulligan’s Sport Bar in Mountain. We had a total of 35 members attend. A special thanks to Mulligans for opening an hour early and supplying coffee and cinnamon rolls.
MEMBERSHIP: Our membership secretary reported that we have a total of 201 paying members. Thanks everyone for belonging to our club.
TRAIL REPORT: We have 4 members from our club that are cleaning out our waterbar’s on a regular basis. The waterbar’s are located on the trail behind the Halfway Bar and on the trail in Doty between Hwy T and Blue Spruce Road. We will also be monitoring any possible washouts on the trails due to the sudden downpours we have had in the last 2 weeks. The new Hwy Bridge on Hwy 64 with a rec wing is still moving forward and construction is scheduled for 2026 or 2027. Once completed along with some trail work, we will have another connection between Oconto County and Langlade County
CLUB FUNDRAISER: Our annual fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday August 16th at Animal’s Bear Trail Inn in Doty at the Corner of Hwy T & Hwy 64. We had a sign-up sheet to help at our meeting on Saturday but we still need more volunteer’s to help that day. The shift’s are scheduled from 1:00-3:00 pm and 3:00 – 5:00 pm. We will email a separate email to all members at a later date on exactly what areas we need help.
CLUB BRUSHING: We have scheduled a club brushing date for Wednesday June 25th starting at 2 locations at 9:30. If you can help, please meet at Animal’s Bear Trail Inn or Riverview Fire Department at 9:30. Bring any brushing equipment you may have.
CLUB RIDE: The board of directors changed our club ride not to coincide with a membership meeting. We are only having one club ride, it is scheduled for Saturday July 19th leaving the Lakewood Trailhead at 10:00 am, The Lakewood Trailhead is located on Hwy 32 across from Firelite Bar. We are looking at riding from Lakewood over to Norm’s Hollow in Pickerel for lunch (lunch on your own) and then riding south through Langlade County and returning to Oconto County. This ride will take about 6 hours. More info will be emailed out as the date gets closer.
LAKEWOOD MARDI GRAS PARADE: Our club will have a float this year in the Lakewood Mardi Gras Parade on Sunday July 20th. The parade starts at noon, the lineup is at the Lakewood Cemetery on Hwy 32.
